The gap we're closing

At noon there's too much. By six there's not enough.

Around midday, rooftops across the west push out more solar than the local network can carry. The network/strong> hits its limit, and that clean power gets curtailed or sold off sometimes for negative prices.

Then at 6pm everyone gets home, switches on, and the very same street pulls expensive power back off the grid, straining the grid.

A number of batteries reduces that demand — it catches the surplus while it's free and local, and lets it back out when the homes and the network actually needs it.

Store the midday surplus

When your street makes more solar tha n it can use, the neighbourhood battery soaks it up instead of letting it spill onto the grid.

Draw it back at night

As the evening peak hits, the battery releases that stored solar back into the same street — cheaper power exactly when it's needed most.

No hardware to buy or fit at home, and you stay with your current retailer. You subscribe to a slice of shared storage — the way PowerBank already works in WA.

We begin where rooftop solar runs highest and the network runs tightest — the constrained kiosks that are already straining at midday.

Each battery is a modest unit — about the size of the community battery already humming away on a street in Fitzroy North — sited on a kiosk that serves 50 to 150 homes. Small, local, and repeatable, one box at a time.
